If you are thinking of biking as a serious hobby, I suggest you consider some safety gear as well.
1. Helmet:
full face must. Solid full face is preferred over one that has liftable chin. Clear visor must. Shaded subvisor optional. Ventilated helps but becomes noisy. Any aditional facilities to place intercom, speakers, camera are optional.
Key check for fitment: Neither too tight, nor loose. Must have good visibility.
2. Gloves:
Normal weather are good enough. Touch enabled are better but depends on quality. Wrist protection and slide protection are additional features. Mini-wiper blade on left index finger is added feature. little finger- ring finger bridge band optional.
Key check for fitment: must be comfortabe at knuckles when gripped
3. Riding jacket:
Net like fabric better. can add layers for winter/rain. Armours for shoulder, elbows, back must. Chest armour additional. CE2 are safer. Must have reflective stripes/marks/ patterns. They generally come with adjustible straps for good fitment.
Key check for fitment: you must be able to move and bend your hands freely
4. Riding pant:
Mostly synthetic material, breathable fabric but not as ventilated as jacket. armours for knee, hip, waist are must. Must have reflective stripes/marks/ patterns. Generally come with split sleeves and adjustible waist.
Key check for fitment: Knee pads must come over knees while in mounted in riding position.
5. Riding shoes:
you may start with suitable ankle shoes with hard sole. Rain cover can be added later. Shin guard, anti-twist are additional features.
Key check for fitment: must have good grip on road when you touch feet on ground. you must be able to move feet to change gears and operate brakes.
Important: All gear must be tried in person before purchase. Do not rely on internet shopping.
